Seriously, no more hashes visited since August, after such a promising start phase? Is the Munich graticule dead? *poke* ;) --Dawidi 14:33, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Dude, no way! We do have jobs and stuff, but there's just no way of letting the graticule die!--82.135.89.29 23:08, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

New Year's Resolution for the München Graticule: More Geohashing!

Seriously, there have been many extremely nice spots in this graticule during the last couple of weeks, and neither rain nor work should stop me from visiting similarly nice spots in the future as much as they have in the last months. How 'bout everyone else? --Zb 18:37, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Quick Links to Map

Dawidi, seems like you've removed the QuickLinks. What was the problem with them? I found them to be very helpful. --Zb 15:11, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, they're helpful (at least somewhat; i've never actually used them), but they induce a delay of several seconds before the page loads. I had added them to all "my" graticules but now I'm removing them again because the delay is annoying. Since this is basically "your" graticule, feel free to put the template back in if you want. --dawidi 15:53, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for answering. Maybe I've never noticed the delay in loading since my connection goes through an old 486 that I've configured as a proxy, so my internet is somewhat fast but far from superfast. I'll leave it like you set it up as I understand the reason very well and don't really pwn the graticule... Need to log more successes to actually feel like I own it ;-) Groet, --Zb 16:04, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
Now that I've played with it, I see what you've experienced -- there is a noticeable delay even through my ancient proxy. I've set up a separate page that won't delay the loading process of the original page and still allows access to the QuickLinks through a bookmark to München, Germany/Quicklinks for those who still want to use them. --Zb 16:19, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I've taken the liberty to embed München, Germany into München, Germany/Quicklinks, just in case you were wondering what I just did. Koepfel talk 16:46, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I think your trick of embedding the page is flippin' awesome. The still-learning wiki programmer that I am, this impresses me a lot! Thanks! --Zb 16:48, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

2010

Hello, I'm going to be in this graticle for a four days in München, 2010-09-17 through 2010-09-20. I'll be able to check this site from the hotel wifi, and I'll be looking up points each day, but my ability to plan travel to the point may be limited. I'd really like it if anyone is considering an expedition during this time to think about possibly including me if convenient. Thanks, Splitdipless 12:31, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, finding some coordinates together would be great. I usually check at night and if something looks like I might go (and I have the time), I'll let you know. I usually check places in Augsburg (47 11) or München (48 11) cause both are along my commute. Yay E of 30W rule! --Zb 20:20, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Sehr gut! Thanks Zb. Splitdipless 19:23, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Guess I might have to chicken out. When I first answered your note on this page, I hadn't known yet I was going to 49 10 this weekend, with quite some non-geohashing stuff going on. Partly, we can also blame the algorithm (or the DJIA, which feels better), because I do have some time on Sunday, but all the coords 48/49 - 10/11 in the neighboring grats would involve lengthy drives for me, with biking being my preferred method of reaching stuff. However, I still haven't completely stopped thinking about 48 10 on 2010-09-19 (Sun) and 48 11 on 2010-09-20 (Mon). The latter is in a beautiful part of the München graticule that I've already been to quite often (e.g. 2010-03-09 48 11) and it can be reached by foot from the S-Bahn station in Vierkirchen. But I really can't promise anything... --Zb 07:38, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
Its ok Zb. I've got enough tourist stuff to keep me busy anyways.Splitdipless 06:51, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

2011

I feel like it's time to do some re-organizing on the page. Some of the expedition reports should maybe be archived and I also think that an "active geohashers in this graticule" list would be nice. What does 48, 11 think? --The T-Man 08:09, 9 February 2011 (EST)

Sounds good to me! Archives might work with a url like http://wiki.xkcd.com/geohashing/M%C3%BCnchen,_Germany/year, but there may be better ways that I am not aware of. Please feel free to go ahead and try whatever seems practical for you. --Zb 14:33, 9 February 2011 (EST)

2012

Over one year after my first announcement, I have now collected the 2008 expeditions at München/2008. Please feel free to add or modify stuff as desired. Maybe we could also add some sort of table with a quick overview of expeditions, seperated in successful, unsuccessful, etc. I'm not quite sure on where that should go, however, on the München page or on the München/year page. I have great hopes for this graticule and year, hopefully, we'll have some activity in this beautiful area! -The T-Man 09:41, 16 March 2012 (EDT)

Oh, and yes, I am aware that München,_Germany/2008 might have made more sense than München/2008, which I copied from the Berlin page. If anyone would like to change this, please do so. -The T-Man 09:43, 18 March 2012 (EDT)
I moved the pages. I also added a link to the archived years directly under the headline. Dunno if you like it. If not remove it ;) -DerFlob 11:46, 18 March 2012 (EDT)
Nah, sure, looks perfectly reasonable to me. I'd also aim to set up a list of this graticule's geohashers (even Innsbruck's got one!) and maybe create some sort of table-view statistics for München so that there are a bit more informations to gather from the site, and in a comfortable and structured way. Once the list of past expeditions has gotten a bit shorter, we could also maybe reactivate the table of content :) -The T-Man 11:54, 18 March 2012 (EDT)

2013

100

Wow, congratulations on number 100, Zertrin! How did you count the expeditions, though? I just looked up Category:Meetup in 48 11 and counted 102. But there's always some junk entries, so you might just be right as well ;) -The T-Man 07:26, 28 January 2013 (EST)

Hum I just read the number given by Most active graticules, Expedition section, the big table, calculated by the bot of NWoodruff. From the category indeed I count 101, if we omit to count the retrohash. Don't know where lies this discrepancy... — Zertrin 07:40, 28 January 2013 (EST)
Probably a planning page relict of some sort. The data from Most active graticules seems very legit to me. Let's just celebrate! :D -The T-Man 11:50, 28 January 2013 (EST)

Zürich war

  • Hey fellow geohashers! Have you read that : 2013-01-26 47 8 and the talkpage. I don't feel like letting them win the "Most active graticule for January 2013" that easily. That's why I'm considering attempting both of the next hashes (tomorrow Sunday and Monday). With lot of luck it could even be possible to finish on a par if the hashes until the end of the month are favorable. For tomorrow, we'll maybe try a Sunrise Geohash achievement. For Monday, I may try it on morning before going to work. — Zertrin 15:19, 26 January 2013 (EST)
    • Challenge accepted. I don't actually have a lot of opportunities to hash in my beloved home graticule right now, but I think we'll manage to keep up and get another one of those shiny ribbons. Thanks for the motivation. --Calamus 15:35, 26 January 2013 (EST)
      • Ha, I also had this sort of itching about challenging Zürich! However, there's a lot of stuff to do until Feb 4th for me. After that, - Bring. It. On. -The T-Man 17:26, 26 January 2013 (EST)
        • Oh, and yes: Making plans. Sunday's spot theoretically is in my corner of the town, but there's a family meeting coming up. Don't know how long that lasts. Monday, in return, looks nice. I'd start at about 14:40 at Central Station. -The T-Man 17:30, 26 January 2013 (EST)
          • The hash has been attended by Zertrin and vermouthandgin. I'm almost slightly impressed. Just don't fail your exams out of need for acceptance, Zertrin. We all do love you already. I'll need to improve my evil nemesis taunts – I'm not really used to not being friendly. --Calamus 12:55, 27 January 2013 (EST)
            • Wonderful expedition Zertrin, seems like you did a great job at annoying (one or more) Swiss. I just set up tomorrow's expedition page, but I'm not sure when to go there yet. -The T-Man 15:30, 27 January 2013 (EST)
              • goddamit. i see a few busy days coming... >:) --Chris 47 8 18:32, 27 January 2013 (EST)
                • Guess so. That's what you get from boasting, my dear :P. Also, I'm not very available right now (and also ruined my feet today), so you'll need to do a big part of it. But let's be honest, they're don't have a real chance of catching up. Do they? --Calamus 19:39, 27 January 2013 (EST)
