Could you please add <nowiki>[[Category:Meetup in LAT LONG]]</nowiki> to new images as well as the date category?  That way we get a gallery of all the images in a graticule as well as all the images on a date. (Not asking you do do it retroactively, just to make a new habit). Also I'm thinking of flying to Europe in the spring to geohash. Goad me. -[[User:Robyn|Robyn]] 16:06, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

It has been suggested (see [[Talk:Bicycle geohashes]]) that the name of that page is a bit misleading -- the name implies it is a list of geohashes which meet the requirements for the [[bicycle geohash achievement]], but actually it's a list of all expeditions, whether the coordinates were reached or not, that involved a bicycle for all or just some of the journey.  I have re-written the introduction to that page to make it clearer, but would appreciate knowing if you have an opinion about moving the page to something like "cycling geohashers" or similar.  I'm consulting the people who cycle most!  Thanks for your time.  -- [[User:Benjw|Benjw]] 20:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Bicycle Geohashes

I'm catching up to you man! only 80 more kilometers to go! Thepiguy 20:25, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, it's up. 237km. I feel bad though, your last geohash would have ended up being >240 if you hadn't hurt your ankle! Oh well, I'll race you to the xkcd-100 achievement! Only 320km!

Track logs

I saw that you put up your GPS tack long onto google maps. Is that easy to do, or do I need special software? Thepiguy 20:12, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

(I just tried to do the same and found the EveryTrail website to be really easy to use. -- Relet 22:31, 20 August 2008 (UTC))
I use http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=googleearth to convert my gdb-files to kmz/kml. Store them myself and link to them in google maps. It can also be done with other gps-logfiles.--Arvid 16:13, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Virgin Graticules

I have discovered a ninja geohasher who bicycles to all his hashes, takes pictures, but doesn't post on the wiki. You'll have to give over that Dortmund virginity. Check out his pictures: he has it. Kliment

Cycling question

Since you obviously didn't start biking yesterday, do you have any words of wisdom about biking in the snow? I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow close to home, but if I decide to do any major geohashing anytime soon I'd rather not end up bleeding on the side of a highway 100km from home... in the snow...

Paderborn

Hey Arvid,

sorry for being so early. I did not really have a choice, because I carpooled with three others. I did leave you a card, hoping you or one of the Osloans would be around. :) -- relet 13:44, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Bicycle geohashes page

It has been suggested (see Talk:Bicycle geohashes) that the name of that page is a bit misleading -- the name implies it is a list of geohashes which meet the requirements for the bicycle geohash achievement, but actually it's a list of all expeditions, whether the coordinates were reached or not, that involved a bicycle for all or just some of the journey. I have re-written the introduction to that page to make it clearer, but would appreciate knowing if you have an opinion about moving the page to something like "cycling geohashers" or similar.
