Expedition
Because of spotty links to the Pole Carl-Johan will give translated bits from emails with the 5 honorary penguins.
Sven Lidström: "I got your request forwarded to me, probably because they saw it came from Sweden.
Anyway, today at UTC 02:30" Editorial note: we had assumed that they used UTC as a TZ and that is consistent with the longitude of -5 "we where out at S 89°59.496 W 5°51.677 alt -89.991607, -5.861282
We were in total 5 people:
- Katie Hess -USA
- Dale Mole - USA
- Joselyn Fenstermacher - USA
- Robert Schwarz - Germany
- Sven Lidström - Sweden
Attached you have proof, (I'm the one without skiing goggles in a blue and yellow toque).
For your information, the GPS acts a bit strange down here just because we are so close to the pole, it has a hard time to keep up with the longitude changes. But we walked all over the place to make sure we were at the right spot. Besides that, the cold messes a bit with the electronics as well.
Looking forward to the Champagne" Yes, I did promise some Champagne and it will be honored!
Jocelyn Fenstermacher: "And I just thought we were going for a fine walk out the front yard.... :)"
