After a few minutes of blundering around, a new path was located on the west side of the ravine. This was through heather, bracken and birch trees. There was very little gorse. The hashpoint was under a birch tree and easy enough to get to. I got the screen shot at 00:08 and uploaded the arrival message at 00:11. My late arrival was mostly down to the ice risk on the roads requiring extra driving caution.

Plans

Two of two spanning midnight - 2017-01-05 52 1 - 2017-01-06 52 1 - ETA 00:00.

The micro-sd card in my phone has died so my evidence photo will be harder. Perhaps my proper camera will work.

Expedition

After manually setting my phone date and time, the arrival upload makes more sense.

Break out the party gear - this was coordinates reached 512 times! Perhaps I'll celebrate with a beer back at home!

There was a place to park at the start of the public footpath. It was 6.5 C warmer here than inland. There was low cloud. The path was easy to follow. Close to the destination, there was a small ravine with steep sides and of course the hashpoint was on the wrong side. There was dense prickly gorse with no prospect of getting through to the hashpoint 20 metres away.
