Expedition

ChromeCrusaders - Another unsuccessful expedition for the ChromeCrusader boys. After getting to the nearest road to the forest. All technology failed leaving us completely blind as to where the point was. After crossing treacherous muddy water pools we discovered we had no GPS fix, no phone data, no signal from anything, and low batteries. We did however see some wild pigs... We turned back and went home with a little less pride.

Sourcerer - First, sympathies to ChromeCrusaders for their tech' fail. It was already dark when I got close. I had checked out the road and potential parking places using Google Street View. Then I went to Bing Maps because they include the British Ordnance Survey. This told me where the public footpath was. When I got to the final road, there was the parking place. The footpath was harder to find in the dark but with a torch, there it was. The path was dry and not too overgrown. I followed this and got as close as possible. Then it was a cross country trek through the wood for 100 metres. This was scary. My Hobbit lore tells me NEVER to leave the path. However there were no spiders or elven banquets and the woodland floor was free from brambles. The trees were tall and there were few low branches. It was dry too.
