This user earned the Frozen Geohash Achievement
by reaching the ({{{latitude}}}, {{{longitude}}}) geohash on [[{{{date}}} {{{latitude}}} {{{longitude}}}|{{{date}}}]] while the temperature was below the freezing point of water.

Copy this template onto your user page if you have earned this achievement.

This achievement is awarded to anyone who records an ambient temperature of less than the freezing point of water, i.e. zero degrees celsius or thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit while at the geohash, and there is actually water in a frozen state. It doesn't matter if the temperature is above freezing for part of your visit, as long as it dips below freezing at the time it is recorded.

Taking the temperature of a portable cooler, ice-pack, dewar of liquid nitrogen or other source of cold is not an acceptable way to achieve this award. If, however, the hash falls at the site of a walk-in freezer to which you obtain access, you are eligible for the award. Bringing your own water and waiting for it to freeze on location is acceptable.

Proof

Generally this will require a photograph of a thermometer showing a subfreezing temperature, but photographs showing geohashers with iced over beards and eyelashes would be fairly persuasive, too. Note that the presence of ice or snow at the geohash location is insufficient, because these may persist for a long time in above freezing temperatures.
