Greetings!
Nice to hear from you! I remember seeing one of your expedition pictures of your GPS, and being incredibly confused as to how my GPS got all the way into the interior.
I don't think I'll be able to make it out this weekend, but I do hope we run into each other eventually! I'll make sure to shave too. The beard can be your thing! :D Thepiguy 05:31, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Saw your comment on thepiguy's talk page and followed you here. I hope you keep geohashing because between the three of us we are going to get this province covered, and some day you're going to hack your way into the middle of nasty bush and discover that I'm there with a plastic raptor, claiming the First Geohasher award, at last! -Robyn 06:24, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Hey, looks like you uploaded photos for 2008-09-14 49 -122 but never edited the page. Care to share your story? Did you do this one solo - and therefore qualify for Last Man Standing? --Thomcat 14:40, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
"Drorca" is Janna, the other member of the expedition. Feel free to edit the images to a smaller size if it will be helpful. -- Sethant 23:33, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the encouragement! I am disappointed in this weekend's hashpoints (as usual) so I'm still waiting for something to come up. I enjoy reading about your adventures. I went through the parts of BC where you has last summer and it brings back great memories. I have a lot of family there too, and seeing your wonderful photos reminds me of them (aunt in Kamloops, aunt in New Denver, parents in Creston).
Keep hashing and posting your awesome photos! Meghan 16:17, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Night squishy.
Thanks for letting me know. One of the parameters was misspelled. It's fixed now. -- relet 09:15, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Don't Make Joanna Cry
Image:2009-04-04_one_stretch.jpg|Mabel Lake, BC
You know better than to link to the Main Page until your expedition report is ready. Even if you create the expedition report right afterwards, the red link remains, because of the way the update works. Put this back when you have a report written. -Robyn 06:29, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I honestly wasn't aware that the order matters. I created those "starter" expedition pages with Joanna in mind. Did the one from the previous day also create this problem? Juventas 18:26, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
KML and where to discuss it.
I think that's a good idea. We would have to ask either Randall or zigdon for changing the mediawiki configuration iirc. You can discuss such general topics at Talk:Main page, for example. -- relet 07:41, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Why is botany link not working?
It's a bit of wiki magic. When you say "[[Category:Flora]]", that displays nothing, and puts the page in the category (as you can see at the bottom of the page). To actually link to the category page, add a colon in front, so: "[[:Category:Flora]]". --starbird 05:26, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
spelling
My apologies -- I hadn't realised "honouray" would be in your dictionary. It isn't in mine. -- Benjw 05:20, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- No apology necessary. Either is valid, I was just curious what your response would be. "Honour" is a British spelling that carried over to Canadian English. The thing that perplexes me is that you live in the UK! Even in your reply you used "realised" (British) instead of "realized" (American). Juventas 05:39, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Look a bit more closely. The word I corrected was "honouRAY" (my capitals to emphasise the bit which is definitely wrong, whether or not you put a 'u' in it). And in any case, in British English you still spell it "honorary" without the 'u' (similarly, honorific and honorarium), even though you spell honour and honourable with the 'u'. My dictionary (Oxford English) doesn't list "honourary" at all, even as a Canadian variant. -- Benjw 12:04, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ack, I'm the sorry one. Obviously "honouray" is plain wrong. "Honourary", however, is very interesting. I could not find it in any dictionary either. Yet, it is published in major media (CBC, BBC, etc.) and by academics (University of Windsor has an "Honourary Accounting Society"). Juventas 01:21, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Belated farewell
You left 2009-06-20 49 -122 without saying goodbye! Anyway, it was nice to meet you. :) - Elbie 04:41, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Aww shucks. When we left I was unsure who was riding in the car, or if we would be seeing anyone again at Lassam's. Even though I skipped out on the abduction, you still thought to write a message here. In some ways reading your expeditions has told me more about you than standing in a ditch with you for a few minutes, but nonetheless, it was nice to meet you too. I don't think it will be the last time. Juventas 05:37, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Camcorder
Actually, it's not mine but Euterkuh's. We've only used it to take photos so far, but maybe it would be a good idea to record some video at the next expedition :) Fivetonsofflax 00:23, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
