From Geohashing

Surely this geohash was far colder than a nice 19°C! --CJ 14:46, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Just because you spilled that styrofoam on the ground? Ha! I see short trousers and sunglasses! -- Relet 14:50, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- One could guess that it was but, without a participant making the claim, and offering any sort of proof, I don't think we can offer-over the record. Ted 14:54, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Nice??? It was raining half the time! It was just luck it was dry when I arrived at the hash, otherwise I'd have had trouble making pictures.--Arvid 15:23, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- Snow persists well into the sweltering summer in some parts, which is why I specifically excluded the presence of snow from being proof of a Frozen Geohash. I'm sure we'll see some great records as the winter comes on in the Northern hemisphere. maybe from these guys. -Robyn 15:46, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
- I know some folks think it's lame, but it makes me smile that the 1st 3 record holders for "coldest geohash" were all in shorts & t-shirt weather (temps, anyway)... :) I hope the next few are 58, 57 & 55.8°F... <G>
- Exactly! I was so delighted that Tom took the bait for the first one. The warmer we start off, the more folks can have the fun of breaking the record. We'll get to parka weather soon enough. -Robyn 22:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
I'd love to find a hash in some food storage building with artificial cooling. I'd just totally have to ask for permission to enter the place. Maybe a quick jump into a supermarket freezer should suffice... ~:D -- Relet 21:50, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well its the middle of Winter here in Australia and according to my thermometer its only 11°C outside right now (at 11.30am). Only problem is I won't be able to get to today's hash...--CJ 01:38, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Unwise Owl! You've broken the unwritten rule by going to a geohash that was more than a full degree colder than the previous one. I don't know if your record should be allowed! :-) -Robyn 04:33, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
