Being a geocacher since 2014, I was looking for something new, something different, and got to find out about geohashing mid August 2018, and it really sounded interesting to me! My geocaching-homezone is pretty empty at the moment, and I have to travel further on each time to find some caches.

Now that I found out about geohashing, I will let the hashes decide, where I am eventually going to find some geocaches as well (if any at all). I like the idea of randomized coordinates to be reached within 24 hours - it turns the game into something spontaneous, do I go there today or not? I cannot wait until tomorrow, but have to react instantly... Guess that's the thrill of it?

Normally I will not travel 100 km to visit a hash or some caches, so I am hoping for geohash-locations in and around the Werra-Meißner-Kreis.

As long as geohashing will get me out there, into the woods, this game will be satisfying for sure - let's wait and see, how long the thrill will be there ;-)

Personal note (October 17, 2018): for exactly two months I did my first geohashing expedition, today is the 21st trip to a geohash - which, in other terms, means to me, that I seem to enjoy this newly discovered hobby a lot!! August 17th seems like ages away, but it have only been the first two months of active geohashing ;-) Hopefully, the thrill and excitement will stay - I'm really digging this kind of 'getting out there' and look forward to further adventures!!!

Ribbons

On my expedition pages I will only place those ribbons that were newly earned on that specific day, since (for example) it doesn't make sense to me to always show the land geohash achievement ribbon each time I visit a hash on land. I earned it with my first expedition, so for me it's obsolete on following expeditions. Down here, I will 'collect' my ribbons in order of achievement... Makes fun though :-)
