Holding Bay

I can never find it when I want it.

{{subst:Expedition |lat = latitude of graticule |lon = longitude of graticule |date = date of expedition, in YYYY-MM-DD format }}

I find it by: Help (in left sidebar) -> Reporting on Expedition (middle of screen or 2nd screen) Jiml 00:07, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah, there it is, thanks Greenslime 00:23, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

iPhone

I was using the Theodolite Pro app on my iPhone 3GS. You can find it in the app store. Comes with inclinometer, compass, position readout, bunch of other stuff. You can take screencaps with all the info on it, or regular blank photos, from within the app. Supports a bunch of different display options. It's been handy. --Jason

Update Page

You put the date, and only the date, on a line by itself, and APBot updates that entries for that page. However, APBot automatically does all the pages on the (I think) current events pages, so The last week or so, and tomorrow and such are automatically picked up. Jiml 01:14, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Wow, you're unstoppable! Great work in the last few days! Felix Dance 10:18, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Like they say, make hay while the sun shines (or in this case, while its raining) It will be months before I get another attainable hash im guessing! Thanks for the encouragement! Greenslime 19:36, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
I just wanted to add my general impression of being impressed. And I have to get me a kite! :D -- relet 22:10, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Reverse regional achievement

I just noticed you claim the Reverse regional achievement for Auckland, but you didn't reach any coordinates in Northland. In order to claim the achievement on a district level, you'd also have to visit all Northland districts in the Auckland graticule, and you can't exclude them just because they are in a different region. In my German home graticule, there's also a very small part of France, and since I've never been there (there hasn't even been a hashpoint yet in three years), I can't claim any reverse regional achievement, because I'd first have to visit all regions of an equivalent level in that small French part. --ilpadre 01:11, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

In actual fact for REGIONAL all you have to get is Auckland Region and Northland Region inside the Auckland Gratical, as what you (greenslime) have defined is actually the districts/Territorial Authorities. NZ is devided up into these 14 regions (NZ Region Map) Opposed to The smaller devision of the Territorial Authorities. You need to get one hash in each colour not one in each division and colour. TunezNZ 02:22, 13 April 2011 (EDT)
You are, however, always free to increase the difficulty of the reverse regional achievement by aiming for smaller administrative divisions, e.g., in a graticule spanning two countries, you can go for hashpoints in both countries to get the most basic reverse regional achievement possible, but you could also try to reach coordinates in all respective subdivisions of both countries (states/provinces, then counties to make it even more difficult, etc.). --ilpadre 04:24, 13 April 2011 (EDT)

Wow, that is great! Nice work! Thanks for passing it on to me! I guess it updates it self on its own as I add hashes (if i ever manage to do another hash, been a little dry around Auckland recently (or wet...)) Greenslime 18:56, 8 June 2011 (EDT)
Hey Greenslime. Have you seen the latest thumbtack on the map for your last Geohash? If you haven't, click on it.--NWoodruff 17:17, 26 January 2012 (EST)
Hey, you are clever, its got my photo on it! :) Thanks! Got a good hash location today, but plucking up the courage to go out in the rain. Will be quite a walk. Greenslime 18:48, 26 January 2012 (EST)
