I live in the Exeter, United Kingdom graticule and due to time constraints do not generally travel far for Geohashes. Plus the graticule is about 50% water which limits options. The graticule was inactive for ten years and I've been trying to revive it since May 2020.
Goals
- Revive Geohashing in the Exeter graticule; I will consider this achieved once a successful Saturday meetup is held.
Reach two consecutive Geohashes on 2020-05-16 and 2020-05-17. Unsuccessful
Rewrite the Exeter, United Kingdom graticule page.
- Achieve a reverse regional achievement for the Exeter graticule.
- Reach my origin geohash. This is about 2.5km off Lundy Island so I can get pretty close but probably can't reach it.
Expeditions
Map of my expeditions.
Successful
- 2020-05-09 50 -3 - In a field between Stockleigh and Cadbury. I had to cycle up a horrible hill to get here but the view was nice and I saw a peacock.
- 2020-05-28 50 -3 - On a solar farm between Woodbury and Lympstone. I got lost several times on the way here.
- 2020-06-29 50 -3 - In a field beyond Whitestone, guarded by dogs.
Failed
- 2020-05-16 50 -3 - On a farm just outside Woodbury. I was unable to reach the geohash as it was on private land but I was able to get a photograph from 120m.
- 2020-05-16 50 -3 - In a field southwest of Ide. I was only able to get within 450m of the geohash as it was on private land, but I did discover a fascinating network of forest paths.
