Saturday meetup looks like it's in a field or some sort of undeveloped land east of Estacada. Public road access to within a mile or so, not sure after that.

Can't commit to going just yet, but it looks doable.

Where to plan

With the User:AperfectBot picking up expedition pages, we should move planning to the expedition page as soon as it becomes clear someone might actually go!

Other conversations

Wil: Anyone know why August 17th is "notable?"

admalledd: No idea.

Unless someone can say why it needs to stay, I'm going to be deleting that section at some point. Also, I'll probably be cleaning up the Daily Locations section by moving all of the text below each date to the YYYY-MM-DD_45_-122 pages RSN. Wil 23:06, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the cleanup, Wil. Do you know who has the first geohash in this graticule? --Thomcat 15:11, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Thomcat, Drache and NoTerminal had the first geohash in the world, and they had it in this graticule.  :) Wil 16:37, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

I completed my cleanup of the Portland page yesterday. The only thing I noticed that need help with is contacting Erin, who was at the 2008-05-26 geohash and who promised us pictures but never posted any. Wil 16:37, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Damn you all in Portland for having an active location. I am the only local to ever visit a Eugene location... It is hard to go when you know you will be the only one there. Grr.

It's a shame that none of the recent (and not-so-recent) expeditions have been written up so that the rest of us can enjoy reading about them. (Or did nobody actually go? Several people are listed as expressing interest.) Can I please encourage you all to write something -- anything! -- about your expeditions? Thanks. -- Benjw 17:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I second Benjw's request. Make quickie expedition pages showing whether or not you reached the coordinates, just so that we an count you in the global statistics. -Robyn 17:17, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

City picture

Hey Portland graticule residents! I took a couple pictures of the city while I was there, and was wondering if you would like to put one on your page, as some other graticules have done. I have two options: [1] and [2]. I would resize the image (since they are way too big for inclusion on a graticule page) and possibly crop it (if desired). Let me know if you are interested, or feel free to download either one and post it yourself! --aperfectring 00:37, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Cool! Thanks! I prefer the second one. I assume I'll be able to convince iPhoto to do some processing for us. Jiml 04:47, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Just make sure they are really of Portland. Vancouver and Seattle know why I'm saying this. :-P -Robyn 06:44, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't have to make sure of it. I didn't travel to Vancouver (BC or WA) or Seattle, and have never done so when I have had this camera. Since these pictures came off of my camera mere minutes before I posted them up here, I don't think I have to worry. =P Feel free to do whatever you want with either photo. --aperfectring 11:56, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

To be scrapped Conversations

June Local hashpoints

With the new Aperfectringbot looking for them, we should start pages for each of the new expeditions once we start actually doing some planning.

That said, Wed looks close to Oregon City. I won't be heading there, but someone else might want to wander by. Looks to be in a big field, though. Jiml 17:03, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

AperfectBot approves. I would suggest that a page is only created if someone is very likely to attend, though, so we don't end up with a lot of pages with just a location description lying around. And heck, even *I* don't usually create planning pages much in advance, if at all. =P One of the future goals of the bot is to be able to look for possible planning on graticule and graticule talk pages (not all of them, mind you, just ones in a list that will likely be on a wiki page). --aperfectring 17:09, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, we've gone from the southern edge of the graticules to the northern edge. Looking too far for me this weekend, but others may be closer. Jiml 04:29, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, as far as I am concerned, we close out the month with hashpoints that are a little too far away for my schedule. Jiml 21:33, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Early July

And we start the new month with what looks like a potential speedracer geohash near I-205 in Vancouver! Jiml 17:12, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Well, this weekend the Saturday and Sunday McMinnville hashpoints are close in. Sunday looks much better: It is close to Pumpkin Ridge Road in North Plains, Oregon. Almost certainly requiring permission, but near to the road. Saturday is off in the woods south of Hwy 26. I've got the local 4th of July parade to help with, so I doubt I will make the latter. Jiml 14:56, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

North Plains again!

Jul 8 Link

The Dow seems to have a thing for North Plains. The McMinnville Graticule hashpoing for Jul 8 seems to be in North Plains again. Looks like a farmer's field again, but that should be no surprise. Anyone interested? Jiml 18:24, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
