: Again I can't make it 😖. It would be extremely tough to do it in one day, thus I would have to depart already today, and there I have other obligations. Thanks anyway! --[[User:Wingman|Wingman]] ([[User talk:Wingman|talk]]) 07:43, 9 October 2021 (UTC)

Welcome to the Geohashing Community! --Fippe (talk) 14:37, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Fippe, thanks for the welcome! I have now done a few expeditions and posted the reports. I'm wondering one thing: Who pays for this? I don't pay anything (I think), and I haven't seen any advertisements. OK, the software is free, but this has to run on some hardware. Who pays for it? --Wingman (talk) 07:21, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
Dan Q hosts the website and, as far as I know, selflessly pays for the costs entirely out of his own pocket. Here is his blogpost about resurrecting the website after the Dark Ages. Before the Dark Ages, Geohashing inventor Randall Munroe hosted the website. --Fippe (talk) 13:29, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks! It's impressive what has been (and is being) created here. --Wingman (talk) 13:51, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Globalhash

Hi again. Tomorrow there is a Globalhash in Spain, 2021-08-19 global. It is closer to Valencia than to Madrid, but since Globalhashes are so extremely rare, you might want to know. --Fippe (talk) 16:03, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Many thanks for pointing me to this. It is indeed very tempting and it looks like it is in the wilds and publicly accessible. However, it would be an almost four hour journey, so it would take at least eight hours for the round trip. As I am working today, this is unfortunately not possible. --Wingman (talk) 06:26, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Another Globalhash

Sunday's Globalhash, 2021-10-10 global, is in Portugal. Not exactly close, but closer than Globalhashes usually are. ;-) --Fippe (talk) 13:50, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
