Our Graticule
The Newark graticule is at 40 N, -74 W. This graticule is among the most populous in the United States, with a population in the neighborhood of 7 million people. It includes almost the entire northern half of New Jersey, the most densely populated state (Census), as well as Staten Island, western sections of Brooklyn and lower Manhattan in New York, and a part of Pennsylvania northeast of Philadelphia. In addition, other than Raritan Bay, there are no large sections of water.

Today's Location
3/29/2012 - the location is in the vicinity of West Holly, in a neighborhood called Timbuctoo. I feel A Tale of Two Hashes achievement coming on :-)
Suggested Meetup Locations
Interesting reachable locations will be posted the same day as they come up. The 80%-90% rate of private property discourages me from updating more often.
Geohashers can also receive daily emails with automated Google address lookup through activegeohasher.com.
Meetups will typically be on Saturday afternoon, at a time to be determined to maximize turnout. The location will be the most interesting and/or accessible of the week; typically open to discussion.
Recent locations
Oct 24, 2011: On the Columbia Trail in the Ken Lockwood Gorge Wildlife Management Area. Very reachable! On this map, it seems to be on section three, Hunterdon County, about a mile north on the trail from Cokesbury Road.
Nov 12, 2011: Looks like it's on the sidewalk next to the Harding Library. Definitely reachable.
Nov 22, 2011: In Morristown National Historical Park, close to Primrose Brook and east of Jockey Hollow. A challenge, but reachable through the woods.
Dec 14, 2011: In Cheesequake State Park, though not in one of the more publicly accessible areas. Easier to reach by walking across Matawan Rd. from the apartments/neighborhood nearby.
Feb 11, 2012: Just off US 22 near Echo Lake.
Feb 20, 2012: A few feet of the road near Amwell Rd., in Hillsborough.
Feb 23, 2012: Along the walking trail, west bank of the Millstone River, north of the Griggstown Causeway, in either Blackwell Mills of Belle Mead.
Feb 28, 2012: A house in Piscataway. I don't know who suggested an alternate location in Manhattan, or to whom all the no-votes belong. I wish there were that many geohashers in the area :-)
Retrohash
The geohash for the date in the original comic (May 26, 2005) is challenging but reachable, in Mill Brook, Morris County. If you make an attempt, tell us about it here!

Wanted: a good bike-map website. NJ Bike Map.com is okay but doesn't include a lot of local bike trails.
- Google Maps now has a bike trail layer, which is a good start.
