This graticule covers the part of the United Kingdom (UK) from 52° to 53° latitude, and from 0° to 1° longitude. It contains the city of Cambridge, and several smaller towns including King's Lynn, Wisbech, Thetford, Ely, Newmarket and Haverhill.
Until Sheffield overtook it in 2011, Cambridge was the UK's most active graticule. Although most of the early activity was based around the city, we are now fortunate enough to have active geohashers to the north and east as well, and new hashers and meetups in any part of the graticule are most definitely welcome. Meetups are always good!

Nothing is currently planned for today or tomorrow, but if you're thinking about planning an expedition, please do edit this page. People actively watch it and you may well get some interest.
The area
The Cambridge graticule covers not only the county of Cambridgeshire, but also parts of Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Lincolnshire. Most of it is land, but the Norfolk coastline falls just inside its northern edge, and, further west, it includes The Wash in Lincolnshire. Much of the terrain is quite flat, with some hillier land in the south, and much of it is farmland.
Due to the symmetry of coordinates about the prime meridian, the neighbouring Northampton graticule, to the west, will never provide a closer hashpoint than our own graticule, no matter how close to the border you are. However, if the day's coordinates fall close to the meridian, then the hashpoints in the two graticules will be quite close together, offering a good opportunity for a Double geohash.
As most of the graticule is very flat countryside, and Cambridge itself is arguably the "cycling capital of England", this graticule offers excellent opportunities for bicycle geohashing.

Cambridge has enjoyed several spikes of activity over the last few years, and was the UK's most geohashed graticule until Sheffield took over the record in 2011. Cambridge, Sheffield and Norwich are now vying for the title -- watch this space!

2015
- 29 January 2015 (Thu) At midnight, Sourcerer visited a field between Hadley and Ipswich, Suffolk, UK.
- 19 January 2015 (Mon) Sourcerer visited a muddy field, east of Boston, Lincolnshire, UK. 7 of 7 today.
- 15 January 2015 (Thu): Sourcerer visited the hashpoint on the main road north of and through Long Melford, Suffolk, UK.
- 09 January 2015 (Fri): Sourcerer visited the hashpoint between Withersfield and Temple End north of Haverhill, Suffolk, UK.
2014
- 28 September 2014 (Sun): The Tongs visited the hashpoint in a field near Vestey Wood, near the Gog Magog Hills.
- 22 September 2014 (Mon): Sourcerer visited the hashpoint close to the source of the River Little Ouse, Norfolk, UK.
- 23 August 2014 (Sat): The Tongs visited the hashpoint in a field on a hillside near the village of Shaftenhoe End.
- 19 August 2014 (Tue): Sourcerer visited a barley field north west of Market Weston, Suffolk, UK arriving just after nidnight.
- 17 August 2014 (Sun): The Tongs visited the hashpoint in a field just south of the A14 in Cambridge, UK.
- 4 August 2014 (Mon): Sourcerer visited the hashpoint in a wild life haven close to the life boat station at Wells Next The Sea, Norfolk, UK.
- 29 June 2014 (Sun): Sourcerer and PaintedJaguar visited the hashpoint in the middle of Sluice Road, between the River Great Ouse and the village of Denver, a couple of miles from Downham Market.
- 2 April 2014 (Wed): A grassy bank next to the River Cam in Waterbeach, just north of Cambridge. Benjw cycled there late in the afternoon.
- 16 March 2014 (Sun): The side of a field in east Cambridge, just over the road from the airport. Benjw cycled over after a sunny pub lunch.
- 28 January 2014 (Tue): The side of a field in Sawston, next to a river and just off the footpath from Whittlesford. Benjw popped over for a lunch-time walk.
2013
- 28 September 2013 (Sat): Sourcerer failed to the reach a woodland boundary due to crops and ditches. This was east of Downham Market.
- 11 September 2013 (Wed): PaintedJaguar failed to the reach the middle of a field adjacent to the River Cam near Waterbeach, due to drainage ditches (and a lack of planning).
- 9 August 2013 (Fri): Benjw cycled to Cottenham but couldn't find any public access to the hashpoint.
- 5 August 2013 (Mon): The front lawn of Cambridge University's Faculty of Education. PaintedJaguar (at midnight) and Benjw (at 5:30pm) both made the short journey.
- 4 August 2013 (Sun): A canal bank near Upwell. Benjw and PaintedJaguar visited at 1am, straight after the previous hash.
- 3 August 2013 (Sat): A riverbank southwest of Kings Lynn. Benjw and PaintedJaguar drove up from Cambridge, arriving just before midnight.
- 29 July 2013 (Mon): The hashpoint was on a river bank in Wicken Fen, near Cambridge. Benjw took the opportunity to explore some local cycle trails during the afternoon.
- 21 July 2013 (Sun): MagicIan nipped just across the border from his home in the Norfolk graticule into the Cambridge one.
- 20 July 2013 (Sat): Benjw and PaintedJaguar attended a Saturday meetup on the corner of a residential road in Sawston, south of Cambridge.
- 9 July 2013 (Tue): Sourcerer wanted to visit the north Norfolk mud flats but could not move low tide to match his free time.
- 26 April 2013 (Fri): On the edge of the slip-road off the eastbound A14 at Milton; Benjw visited mid-afternoon.
- 14 April 2013 (Sun): Sourcerer failed to reach the hashpoint in a military zone used for training.
- 12 March 2013 (Tue): Benjw arrived in yet another muddy field near Ely, which looked strangely familiar from September's expeditions.
- 3 March 2013 (Sun): Benjw found another muddy field just after sunset, a bit west of Saffron Walden.
- 18 February 2013 (Mon): Sourcerer visited a field north of the air base at Mildenhall. Benjw later visited the same spot.
- 12 February 2013 (Tue): Benjw found the hashpoint in a muddy field south of Haddenham, near Ely.
2008-2012
Eighty one expeditions took place between 2008 and 2012. These are detailed on the archive pages for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The highest number of expeditions in a calendar year was the 27 expeditions during 2010. In September 2012 this graticule was the most active in the UK with 11 expeditions, one was a retro, and all were successful.

The following are known to be currently active:
- Benjw is in central Cambridge. He hashes by bicycle and car, albeit sporadically, but checks the wiki frequently and is always keen for meetups.
- MagicIan is in the Norwich graticule.
- PaintedJaguar is in Cambridge.
- Sourcerer is also in the Norwich graticule.
- Transhumanist is in the Northampton graticule, but still considers himself a Cambridge resident and is working on improved means of transport.
- The Tongs are in Cambridge and have only just started geohashing.
