Friday and Saturday's hashpoints don't look great for me, but Sunday looks stellar!  It is actually very close to my house.  I'll see

Well, I did some hunting around and visited a couple of folks who might have a pointer to who owned the land.  Neither of them

owned the land, and one of the possible owners sounded extremely unfriendly towards folks on their land, and the other person

I am visiting this graticule through Friday 2009-06-05.  I plan on going hashing at least once while I am here, but I don't know for sure when yet.  I will try to post an update here before I go to the point.  --aperfectring 04:50, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

:We're happy to have you here!  Activity in this area is sporatic.  I live close to the next Graticule over, so I tend to watch it more closely.Jiml 16:40, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

::My hotel is on the east side of Hillsboro (185th and Tanasbourne), so I would consider a location in that graticule as well.  Today's there doesn't look too bad for just getting a hash under the belt.  I may try to get there later, but don't know for sure if I will, or if I do, when I will go. --aperfectring 19:37, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

I am going to make an attempt for the Portland point today.  I may very well get turned back by mother nature, but it will make for a fun adventure in any matter.  I will probably be going while people are at work, though, so I doubt there will be any meetup. --aperfectring 14:44, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

:I would've been willing to try with you if it wasn't an hour and a half drive from here. Unfortunately, I do not have that kind of time today. I have the luxury of not working the typical 9-5, so if you want to grab coffee with someone from the area, just give me a ring. When tomorrow are you headed out? -- Jhon 16:04, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

::I leave early AM on Sat.  Tomorrow is entirely free for me, but I was planning on heading out to the coast for the morning, and possibly early afternoon.  I will check on here shortly after hash-o-clock, and again when I get back to the hotel, likely early afternoon.  Let me know if you want to head out somewhere.  --aperfectring 03:15, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

:Hope you had a good visit.  I looked at yesterday's hashpoint and had this fear it was going to work out the way it went down for you.  Jiml 18:05, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

::I kinda figured it had strong potential to end that way.  However, the point was to go somewhere I wouldn't have gone otherwise, and have a good time doing it.  That makes the attempt a success in my mind.  But good news, I drove to the coast today, and successfully reached the point out near Seaside, report will go up later today.  --aperfectring 19:44, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I've made a number of changes to the graticule page today to disentangle it from McMinnville and to make it look less like geohashing was something that happened from 2008 to 2010.  I haven't erased much, so if there's anything missing that you liked, it's just a matter of un-hiding it.  I've left the meet-up and timing info as is, since I'm amiably asocial in my geohashing and don't know if it's considered "live" at this point or not.

I hope I haven't made any unwelcome changes; and, if I had, it's a wiki, so you can unchange 'em!  My only ask would be that I am strongly against having extensive information about neighboring graticules on the page and would like to avoid that while I'm still active unless there is a strong consensus to the contrary. Older Question re Aug 17

Wil: Anyone know why August 17th is "notable?"

admalledd: No idea.

Unless someone can say why it needs to stay, I'm going to be deleting that section at some point. Also, I'll probably be cleaning up the Daily Locations section by moving all of the text below each date to the YYYY-MM-DD_45_-122 pages RSN. Wil 23:06, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the cleanup, Wil. Do you know who has the first geohash in this graticule? --Thomcat 15:11, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
Thomcat, Drache and NoTerminal had the first geohash in the world, and they had it in this graticule.  :) Wil 16:37, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Damn you all in Portland for having an active location. I am the only local to ever visit a Eugene location... It is hard to go when you know you will be the only one there. Grr.

It's a shame that none of the recent (and not-so-recent) expeditions have been written up so that the rest of us can enjoy reading about them. (Or did nobody actually go? Several people are listed as expressing interest.) Can I please encourage you all to write something -- anything! -- about your expeditions? Thanks. -- Benjw 17:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
