Welcome to the '''Geohashing Wiki'''. Geohashing was brought to you by the [[xkcd]] webcomic. Normally, any frame could be changed into prescription sunglasses. Preferably avoid getting cheap or "non rx-able" [http://lucyyou.com/mat-kinh-thoi-trang mat kinh thoi trang] frames plus the extreme cover type since these make a difference to the visibility along at the corner with the lenses. These are typically suitable only up to specific power. Sunglasses having a shield design may also be not suggested for prescription sunglasses.

== What is this? ==
When you have vision problems that require wearing bifocal lenses or progressive lenses, it is easy to find prescription sunglasses for you. It is possible to select many different excellent lenses for example polycarbonate, plastic, Trivex and glass. Trivex is considered the best due to the durability. Polycarbonate just isn't the best choice if you plan to consider tinted lenses.

The tint:

Prescription sunglasses can be tinted or plain. Although blue and yellow are thought trendy the recommended shade is brown since it is the best option for protecting your eyes from your sun. A high level athlete or play tennis, golf or other outdoor sports, you should have accurate seeing as well as capacity to differentiate contrast. Grey can be another great option for its power to shut the sunshine. Blue isn't your best option as it might cause a glare.

•Polarized lenses to help keep off glare by limiting vertical light, reducing strain towards eyes. This has a tendency to remember to darken particularly in cloudy weather or perhaps the colour tone and longer revisit clear lenses. Additionally often experience a light tint.

Finally, clip on prescription sunglasses are a choice for all on a budget, besides providing you the ease of carrying them around along and wearing them on the move. You can simply clip them onto your regular prescription glasses. These are, however, much less effective for a proper couple of sunglasses when they tend not to do a sufficient job of guarding your eyes in the sun. There is a choice of "fit-over" frames which are over your regular glasses, with no need to bring them off. They also steer clear of the side glare a result of clip-ons.
+

Make sure choose high quality frames for the prescription glasses during which prescription lens are acceptable to help keep the eyes are at ease, while enjoying good vision.

I left the bicycle at the roadside 400 metres from the point and continued on foot. I quickly noticed that I was walking into a swarm of about a million mosquitoes. –– [After reaching the geohash] I took another, slightly more accessible route back to the bicycle and began to cycle back towards the major road. The swarm of mosquitoes still followed me for half a kilometre until I could reach level road and accelerate away from them.

What is this?

The Algorithm as shown in xkcd comic #426, published on 21 May 2008.

Geohashing is an adventure, comprising journeys to random places within a given area. Every day, effectively random locations are generated by an algorithm that achieves randomness using stock market data. It is a Spontaneous Adventure Generator. A set of coordinates is generated for each 1°×1° latitude/longitude zone (known as a graticule) in the world. The coordinates can lie anywhere in the graticule — in the forest, in a city, on a mountain, or even in the middle of a lake! Everyone in a given region gets the same set of coordinates relative to their graticule.

The generated coordinates are used as destinations for adventures, à la Geocaching, or for local meetups. After the fun, please document your expedition! The rest of us would love to read your story, see your photos, and cheer your success (or commiserate with your failure). You can use this wiki to document the daily coordinates (geohashes) you’ve been to or tried to reach.

Official xkcd meetups

Felix Dance, Mdixon4, Rhonda, Lachie and Stevage meet up at the 28 December 2015 (a Monday) coordinates for Bairnsdale, VIC, Australia.

Based on the title text from the comic that established geohashing, the "official" meetup day was interpreted as being Saturday; that is, the day one would have the best chance of meeting others -- see also Mouseover Day. Additionally it was decided through convention that a good meeting time would be 16:00 local time (4:00 P.M.)¹

However, neither of these are hard rules, and they were formulated at a very different early stage in the sport's history. Nowadays and for quite awhile actually, any date or time can be good (or bad, depending on how many other hashers are near you) for meeting up, especially if prearranged. Note that this only applies to that day’s normal local geohash or globalhash coordinates, if you try to go to an alternate location without telling anyone else, it's highly unlikely you'd meet up with a hasher there (obviously).

¹Or earlier if that would be too close to sunset during the winter, or other quirks of temporal tradition; see your local graticule page for consensus there.

Recent and Upcoming Coordinates

The coordinates for the next Saturday meetups, scheduled for 23 November 2024, will be based on the Dow’s opening price published at 09:30 EST (14:30 UTC) on Friday 22 November. See timeanddate.com to convert this time to your local time zone.

Disclaimer: When any coordinates generated by the Geohashing algorithm fall within a dangerous area, are inaccessible, or would require illegal trespass, DO NOT attempt to reach them. Please research each potential location before attempting to access it. You are expected to use proper judgment in all cases and are solely responsible for your own actions. See more guidelines.
