New interactive map (Geco)
I love it! I didn't know about the commercial flight earlier this month until I saw the highlighted grat way out over the Atlantic on your map. By the way, how are you counting geohashers? The map says there were 22 for Newark. -- Jevanyn 12:06, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
- It's a fuzzy logic estimate from parsing the expedition reports, the same that apr uses for the Current events page and I used for the Narrative chart. Ideally, any unique name having participated in any expedition in that graticule is counted. -- relet 12:08, 27 March 2012 (EDT)
That. Is. Awesome.

- Hey - thank you! -- relet 18:29, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
Hi relet, can you tell me how I should structure geohash pages to maximise the chance of all the participants being included on your map? Originally I thought that just linking people would do it, but 2012-06-10_-37_145 tells me "no registered wiki users were recognized as participants."
Felix Dance 00:57, 21 June 2012 (EDT)
- Hmm, did you change the page recently? It seems to have picked up all four of you by now. It parses the expedition pages for the last two months every night (CET), and everything else once a month. -- relet 03:31, 21 June 2012 (EDT)
- Yeah, you're right. I did fiddle with it a little, by just moving the names around a bit. Here's another example that doesn't work - can you shed some light on this: 2011-12-27 -36 149? I've mentioned Talex a few times in there, does it need to be in a certain format? --Felix Dance 19:00, 21 June 2012 (EDT)
- I think it just hasn't updated since your edit, but I'm not certain. The name had been given in the old version too, so I might have made a mistake in identifying the categories. I'll look into that. -- relet 04:42, 22 June 2012 (EDT)

Halloo, relet. Is today a good time to figure out why the Geco won't pick up the expeditions from my page? [1] shows one trip to Germany instead of two (or three, if you add the non successful one); misses at least two of my Washington expeditions (16th and 17th down from the top). In other words, the ones it chose seem to have no pattern, and I can't help you debug more than that. Looking to have all 96 graphically represented. Ideas? --Thomcat 11:05, 24 July 2012 (EDT)
- Hi. I checked and didn't find the reports in my database yet. The full update (for expeditions older than two months) only runs once a month, and it seems the report is more recent than that. I'm running it now and will check if it works then. -- relet 04:53, 25 July 2012 (EDT)
- The scheduled job also got confused by a recursive category apparently. Anyway, it's running now. -- relet 05:08, 25 July 2012 (EDT)
- Looks much better - now I have two German attempts out of three. I haven't counted the points to see if all my geohashes are covered. At least one is not - 2009-02-22 51 10. Definitely older than two months ;) --Thomcat 12:30, 30 July 2012 (EDT) Thought it might be related to the participants line having more than just a user name - a number of the Seattle expeditions have "no registered wiki users were recognized as participants" even though I was there. Some failed, some successes. A clue perhaps? See 2008-10-13 47 -121 or 2008-10-12 47 -120 for examples. --Thomcat 12:47, 30 July 2012 (EDT)
- Yup, it's definitely the single line. That's a pretty big fail for the semi-smart participant detection, but I'm taking the easy route now and will change the page instead of the algorithm. We should hear with aperfectring if he has the same issue with the aperfectbot. (doesn't look like it, as the list on 2009-02-22 is almost complete.)
- As I don't have any clue why the other two are not picked up, I might just go ahead and fix that issue anyway. Thank you for helping me with debugging, and sorry for being a bit slow in doing that. :) -- relet 03:05, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
- It seems that the database still hasn't picked up the latest version of the report (which lists you as a participant). I'll have to crawl again, and this time supervise it. -- relet 03:07, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
- Ha, found the issue. Crawling now, might take a day to see updates, probably less for the expeditions in 2008. -- relet 03:09, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
- I think we're good now. -- relet 10:43, 31 July 2012 (EDT)
- You think correctly! Using the totals from your tool I found where I was off by one in two different directions. Thanks! --Thomcat 12:21, 31 July 2012 (EDT)

Japan
Relet!! I know you because I copy-pasted my user page from Juja, who copy-pasted it from you. I was checking that great interactive map and saw you've geohashed in the Tokyo area in the last 30 days!! I suddenly feel less alone in this new and faraway country... Geohashing is on my list of things to do before I leave in 2 months! Enjoy your stay in Japan! Lizwiz 21:45, 5 October 2012 (EDT)
New version of the centicle selector
I've made a new version of the centicle selector, now with graticle switching capabilities: http://jsbin.com/equvix/latest . You should probably update your hosted version. JesseW 00:49, 15 May 2012 (EDT)
- Sorry, bad link: try this: http://jsbin.com/equvix/19?lat=32&lng=-117

Hosting for a the ambassador flyer in .doc (and .pdf) formats?
Danatar sent me the Ambassador flyer in .doc format, which I can't upload to the wiki. Could you host it? JesseW 03:08, 1 June 2012 (EDT)
User Page
Hello relet! I stumbled upon your astonishingly official-looking page! Would you mind me using it as a template for my own page?
- Be my guest! -- relet 01:18, 31 August 2012 (EDT)
/follow broken?
I was just told to update the Graph, which takes some of its data from your nice /geo/follow/<user>. Currently, /follow isn't returning any expeditions for about 400 of the 450 users listed on the Meetup_Graph page. Are you going to fix /follow, or should I go back to generating a less rich graph until I can find a way to get the data myself? --Hijackal (talk) 04:36, 26 February 2013 (EST)
- I already reported this.
- The behaviour changed only a few days ago. I'd suggest waiting for a fix for some time. The bubble size of the graph is the most comfortable way to find out whom to pray to, would be a shame if it wasn't there anymore.
- It's too bad this great tool isn't open source. --Calamus (talk) 04:55, 26 February 2013 (EST)
- Shoot, I forgot to put this in the geohashing toolshed. I will look into the issue and push the changes to the repository. Sorry, I haven't been logged in here for a while (and will be traveling for two more weeks now). -- relet 15:58, 19 March 2013 (EDT)
- I'm running the monthly (full) update right now, and maybe that fixes things. If not, I'll have to have a look after Easter. (sorry) -- relet 16:15, 19 March 2013 (EDT)

relet.net expired?
Hello, looks like something is wrong with relet.net... Best regards, --Crox (talk) 15:21, 11 March 2013 (EDT)
- Fixed, thanks. -- relet 15:58, 19 March 2013 (EDT)
Padova
Hi, and thanks for the heads up! Unluckily, I won't be able to be geohashing tomorrow as I already have plans for the day... it would be very hard for me to get there anyways, as I don't have a driver license yet and I can only move around by public transport. I'm sorry I won't be able to join your adventure! Hope you have fun! Werther (talk) 18:17, 22 March 2013 (EDT)
relet.net down
FYI: My server just suffered from maintenantitis. I'm not sure when I can get it up again. -- relet 04:19, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
- perl -e "print'n'.'o'x100" - Mampfred (talk) 05:18, 3 April 2013 (EDT)
- Still suffering some metamorphosis illnesses, but ReletBot is now running correctly again (sorry for the mess), and building the databases. -- relet 03:34, 9 April 2013 (EDT)
Jason Service Interuption?
Your http://relet.net/geo Jason service appears to be down (currently returning minimal html page showing only "vork in progress"). Any idea when vork will be complete? The iOS app I just got apparently relies on the good will of your service :P
relet.net is down
Hello! Something appears to be wrong with your site; the IRC client, geohashing browser and other features all return a minimal html error message. Hope you can get it fixed soon, just thought I'd let you know the relet.net services still aren't functioning on my end.
- 'Twasn't me who posted the above, but I did notice that the same issue was up a year ago. Beware the Ides of March! And yes, relet.net is "not available" according to my browser error. --Thomcat (talk) 00:25, 17 March 2014 (EDT)
- Any chance of getting this up and working again? -Haberdasher (talk) 12:53, 4 July 2014 (EDT)
- I might have a chance when I'm in my office again in August, but I prefer not to make promises. The server is in a vegetative state, and there hasn't been much idle time lately. -- relet 13:34, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
- Any update? -Haberdasher (talk) 21:59, 10 October 2014 (EDT)

ReletBot
I was looking at the "wanted pages" page, and has a question about ReletBot. Does it still new graticule pages if someone edits All_Graticules/<continent>? Does it also make a redirect for the lat,lon links? Or does it hunt down all the neighbors and update the crosslinks? -- Jevanyn (talk) 09:32, 10 January 2014 (EST)
Congratulations?!?
If we're interpreting your recent wiki edits correctly then congratulations are in order? Yay for hash-familiy additions and looking forward to the expedition report tomorrow possibly with the first family photos :D - LadyBB, EmmJay and Mampfred (talk) 10:07, 6 April 2014 (EDT)
- Heh, Linnea says thank you. She is seven months now, just her father has been a terribly lazy geohasher. -- relet 12:23, 6 April 2014 (EDT)
Are you going for the Norwegian globalhash tomorrow (2014-07-19)?
It is just south of the Sognefjord, and very close to a road... rather far from Oslo though I suppose... -- OtherJack (talk) 15:04, 18 July 2014 (EDT)
- Thank you for the notification. No, I didn't. Incidentally, I am going to that area for the next week, but such is the nature of geohashing. :P -- relet 04:09, 23 July 2014 (EDT)
The helpful centicule map tool
Hello Relet! I'm trying to work out what centicules I want to get emails for, and this page User:Aperfectring/Notification#Current Implementation suggests that I try this helpful map tool http://relet.net/geco/centicules.html?lat=45&lng=-122 ... but unfortunately that helpful map tool just says "vork in progress". I don't suppose you happen to know whether this helpful map tool will be working again any time soon? Or if there's some other easy way to get a map of my home graticules (-34, 138 and -35, 138) with their centicules? With many thanks,
Brendan. (User:BrendanTWhite)
Actually, never mind - I found this one. http://jsbin.com/equvix/latest
