My home coordinates are plusminus 48.53,9.06 in the city of Tuebingen, Germany now in Erlangen, I live in 49,11 but 49,10 is very close to my home, too.

I want to geohash mostly by bicycle or public transport, but I will make short detours (less than 5km one way), if a geohash is near to a route I'm driving by car anyway.

Geohashes

I started with geohashing after years of just watching in 2015. I did it for a two years, then other stuff happened and I didn't check coordinates anymore regularly.

My current goal is to go at least once per month on a geohash.Lol, I never did this anyway. My current goal is one geohash per year, that would be much more than 0 between 2018-2022 :)

Not attempted

Here I collect geohashes I didn't attempt, but still are noteworthy somehow. This list is likely incomplete.

2017-06-23 46 5 46.827141,5.727578 Far and foreign graticule; we even drove 200m close to it on the street next to it on the correct day. However terrain is way too steep to reach it.

Geohash Equipment

  • Garmin etrex Vista
  • Geohash Droid (Android App written by CaptianSpam)
  • Headlight LedLenser H5R.2
  • Gudereit Touring Bicycle
  • Samsung Galaxy S1 (I should really buy a decent smartphone/camera, the pictures look like crap, especially when it's dark) OnePlus One
  • Peugeot 107 (cheating, only if too near to skip!)
  • Electric Scooter "Trinity Uranus"

Achievements

Only the first ribbon is listed for achievements I acquired more than once.

Minesweeper

For an easy overview take a look the awesome map by NWoodruf or use the table below. It contains the first successful hash for each graticule. I only included graticules for which I know I will be travelling through or staying in at least for a few days per year and thus there is a small possibility to get them, if the algorithm is kind enough! Those with brackets are even more unlikely to get anytime soon, a star (*) means I attempted this graticule but failed.
