Congratulations on taking the graticule! Me and srs0 were hoping to make the first hash when we head over next year in May. But I will gladly settle for being able to meet another geohasher. How much longer are you at the University?
Maybe if we're lucky, you won't have visited every graticule in the area! Happy geohashing! Thepiguy 16:45, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
I forgot to ask, what is it that you're writing you thesis on? If you don't mind me prodding into your life. :D Thepiguy 04:45, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'm coming to Europe in a fortnight. I expect to be in your vicinity around Geohashing Day. We will rock the world. -Robyn 17:42, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm looking forward to meeting you, but it really depends on which day you are here. The last part of my final exam is on 2009-05-19 and 2009-05-20, so I won't be able to go on an expedition on those days and on Geohashing Day I'll probably still be very drunk. - Danatar 07:48, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I think I told you I'm not going on that trip anymore, but may go later in the year. -Robyn 05:18, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

I'll be in the Bamberg graticule some time between 2009-09-12 and 2009-09-19. I'd be glad if I could come over to Würzburg by train to visit a geohash with you, Srs0 and ThePiGuy. Any chance that could happen? In that case, I'd bring my bike, otherwise I'd leave it in Hamburg. -Hermann 20:32, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Alrigt, I'm looking forward to meet you. I probably will only have sporadic internet access, exchanging phone numbers or something would be cool. Please send me an email. --Hermann 12:47, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
Wade & I will be in Walldorf (near Heidelberg) for October 17-23, then travelling for a week. Should we visit you? What should we see? -Robyn 05:25, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

I'm thinking of the hash by the Frankfurt Airport tomorrow, but don't want to spend the money on train tickets to go alone. You planning on going or not? I posted on the Frankfurt graticule, but I doubt anyone will see it. -Srs0 14:26, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- I thought about it (I haven't had a successful expedition in that graticule yet) but I don't think I will go. It's too far to go by bike and too expensive to go by train or car. - Danatar 14:42, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I figured as much. Tell me if you change your mind. -Srs0 14:43, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Well done sir
Congratulation on reaching 50! And glad to see you survived the storm. I had a bad enough time walking home from the bus. Thepiguy 14:14, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
happy birthday!
happy birthday belatedly .. and congratulations for earning the matching ribbon (and curse my sluggishness that made me have to wait another 362 days until I get my next chance at it [I only mention this to make you feel better. In fact I had such a nice day cosily cuddling my cats and listening to the rain outside.])! btw, your a/s/g has to be updated! =) -- lyx 19:46, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
A ribbon!

- Thanks!
Shall we aim for the double 100?
I just noticed that you are approaching the 100 attempted hash points, too. I gather from your user page that you counted each attempted hash point as an expedition, while I counted multi-hashes as one. Is that correct? In that case, we are indeed both at 93 attempted hash points. Would you like us to try to reach the 100 at the same time and date? :D -- relet 09:31, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, and I just noticed that we might even invite Robyn over, unless she has been ninja'ing in the meantime. That would require the two of us to hurry a bit, or her to keep slacking, though. -- relet 09:36, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting that, 3 topics above this one is the discussion about you reaching 50. :D
- Yes, I count each hashpoint as one. Double or triple 100 sounds fun, we should aim for it! The 100th might not be easy though, since I live in the corner and you in the middle of the graticule. Because of my work I currently have neither the time nor the energy to visit farer hashpoints. I don't know if Robyn will take part, she hasn't gone on any expedition for almost 3 months :-( - Danatar 19:32, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
2009-10-27 Frankfurt
It's amazing how close this geohash is to being part of the Bayern portion of the Frankfurt graticule. Worthless for the regional hash since it's not actually at the right place, but I thought it's interesting to note since it's so close. Too bad it's not around 3km north! -Srs0 14:35, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
- Yes. The good thing is that I'm not tempted this way! - Danatar 21:17, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
2009-11-03
So where specifically do you work? More to the point, is tomorrow a cubicle honourable mention? -Srs0 14:39, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- No, 1.6 km. But I'll go there anyway of course. - Danatar 19:50, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Awww, too bad. Still awesome though! Have fun! -Srs0 09:52, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Heute Abend
I'll let you know when I'm leaving and when I'm there. Any idea when you'll be off work? Thepiguy 15:41, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not working today. But it's too cold and too dark and I'm too lazy to cycle to that field. - Danatar 16:06, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Europe tiles
Hello, I was wondering if the numbers on the european map here: http://wiki.xkcd.com/geohashing/File:Europe-visited-graticules.png have some special meaning or are random? - ivanatora 12:35, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- The flags mark the graticules that have been visited, and the numbers next to them show how many of the surrounding graticules have been visited, just like in the original minesweeper they show the number of surrounding mines. The map is not up-to-date because the Maps and statistics page has been created since. There the visited graticules are marked for the whole world, so it's bigger and better and more automagic than the minesweeper map.- Danatar 18:14, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer :) I'm kinda new around. Is there some way for inter-users communication instead of writing on wiki users' pages? Like forum, or something? ivanatora 19:24, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

I hope you're planning on going to this geohash. It's so close! -Srs0 15:48, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
