Minesweeper Geohash note

Any new graticule can easily contribute to multiple Minesweeper ribbons, due to the progress levels and the inherent symmetry (guaranteed at level 1, possible up to level 3). To reduce clutter when selecting ribbons to show on an expedition page or my user page, I use this filtering strategy:

  1. When the set of graticules in one potential ribbon is a (strict) subset of the set of graticules in another, discard the former ribbon.
  2. When there are multiple potential centers for the same actual set of graticules, keep only the center that I geohashed first.

One effect is that the new graticule can appear as the center only rarely, when it is adjacent to multiple past graticules that are not adjacent to each other.
