The Berlin graticule is at latitude 52, longitude 13. It completely encloses the cities of Berlin and Potsdam. It extends as far as Zehdenick and Joachimsthal to the north, Luckenwalde to the south, Storkow and Falkenberg to the east and Potsdam to the west. It also contains a part of the Spreewald and some nice lakes.

According to Land usage, the chance for your hash to fall into one of the following areas is:

37.03%	Forests
29.14%	Fields
11.23%	Natural reserves
9.19%	Roads
6.84%	Settlements
3.84%	Highways
2.12%	Water
0.62%	Industrial

New hashes are announced at 15:30 local time on the previous day, and on friday for saturday, sunday and monday.

Upcoming Locations

Berlin is getting busy. I think it would be a wonderful thing to organize a bigger meetup in advance (except for the actual location). Please cast your vote in this doodle poll to indicate your availability. We shall try to organize a suitably sizable expedition on the most popular date. Tell your friends!
I suggest to envisage the currently most popular date, August 29, and make some room in the calendar now for a day trip with the crazy bunch on that day. But do continue to participate in the poll to claim and update your availability.

Which, of course, does not exclude the possibility to visit hashes on any other day:

  • Friday: davidc proposes anyone not at work meet at the day's hash at 12:34:56 7/8/09 :-D
In a meadow near Grumsin in the very north that is.. :D -- relet (is working) 13:31, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Gah, too far :-( --Davidc 18:55, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Saturday: Meetup time! On a tree in Ringstraße, Weißensee.
  • Sunday: Foresty, westy, no-mans-land.
  • Monday: Foresty, near the Oder-Spree bicycle track, near Zerpenschleuse.
  • September 5th or 6th! thepiguy will be in Berlin and wants to meet you all!

If you actually plan to visit a hash, please create the appropriate wiki page. Others[tm] might be more likely to join in. Subscribe to the RSS or ATOM feeds to be notified of any changes made to this page.
