Upcoming Meetups

You too can have this much fun.

xkcd local meetups take place every Saturday at 4:00pm (local time) in your local graticule, when the location is accessible. Many graticules attempt a meeting any day of the week that the coordinates can be reached.

Today's Coordinates

West of -30°: announced 14:30 UTC, 21 November
East of -30°: .7926356, .4238397
Globalhash: 52.674410096305,-27.417719504729

Please check your local graticule page for more details about meetup organisation, fellow geohashers, etc. See Help:Contents for information on how to use these coordinates to find the meetup location.

Saturday Coordinates

The coordinates for the next Saturday meetups, scheduled for 23 November 2024, will be based on the Dow’s opening price published at 09:30 EST (14:30 UTC) on Friday 22 November. See timeanddate.com to convert this time to your local time zone.

Planned Meetups

This is a new section designed to collect planned expeditions in one place. It is hoped that it can eventually be automated, placing all pages in Category:Expedition planning for each date under the appropriate subheading, but for now it is manual. For discussion on the automation effort, please see the the talk page.

Add a new subheading if you are planning a more recent expedition, and move the subheadings for dates that have passed in their respective timezones to the Recent Meetups section. Each entry should be a link to a [[YYYY-MM-DD LAT LONG]] page giving more details of the planning, even if the plan is simply "thepiguy will attend." Please don't use this page for simply cataloguing geohash locations: posting here is interpreted as an intention to geohash there on that date.

If you are looking for an expedition, be very aware that this is not a complete list. Information on why, and more help finding expeditions is available at How to arrange meetups.
