Upcoming
- Going to be just south of Minneapolis for most of November.
- Scout the bridge access bike route from both sides and for all arrival and departure directions for the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge - will need to know this if I want to do a pure bicycle geohash that isn't downtown or on the north shore.
- Thinking of buying a bike trailer, to carry the kayak on. Any recommendations?
Goals
My origin hash spot looks so easy to access, I'm going to go for it next time I visit my parents (with time to spare in the trip up or back). It's about 500m (straight line) from highway 5, and google maps shows what appears to be a logging road that passes within 20m or less of the spot.
Personal firsts
Things that I did for the first time in my life while or because of geohashing.
- Kayaked into 17kts wind and whitecaps in open water.
- Rode a bike across an international border.
- Went to the US on a lark. (All other trips were planned in advance.)
- Bicycle camping.
- Carried a kayak on a city bus.
- Bushwhacked my way down a cliff.
