The Portland metro area graticule is at 45 N, 122 W. It completely encloses the city of Portland and some surrounding areas. The graticule is almost entirely land, much of it open and undeveloped, making this one of the best areas for geohashing.

Portland, Oregon was the 12th most active graticule in the world in 2009, according to data accessed Dec 31, 2009. It was the 4th most active graticule in the world for November 2009, and tied for 2nd most active graticule in the world for December 2009.

Meetup time

It was proposed, and no objections were raised, so the official meetup time for our graticule(s) is now 2PM from Oct 1 to March 15, and 4PM for the rest of the year. I'd say this applies to neighboring graticules as well.

Planning and Coordination

View of the west hills of Portland, Oregon

Many of the folks in the Portland, Oregon graticule hop over to the McMinnville, Oregon graticule for hashpoints there. The planning was happening here on the Portland page, but now with the User:AperfectBot picking up Category:Expedition planning pages, it makes sense to move the planning to the expedition page itself once someone is committed to going.
