I am a Finnish outdoors person, geocacher and orienteer. I heard about geohashing at about the same time I started geocaching in 2013, but only in April 2019 did I actually get around to creating an account.

I have created a template for displaying links to National Land Survey of Finland's topographic map: Template:MapSiteLink. Anyone in Finland is free to use it too if they want to.

A better alternative for Finland: Just link to https://kripakko.neocities.org/geohash_maplink?<date>_<latitude>_<longitude>K which will redirect you to the map service. Remember to add "K" or "k" in the end as without it you'll be redirected to geohashing.info instead as above. Example: [5]

In an expedition report you could do just [https://kripakko.neocities.org/geohash_maplink?{{#replace:{{SUBPAGENAME}}| |_}}K] which automatically uses the geohash of that page.

Kripakko earned the No trespassing consolation prize by almost (four metres!) reaching the (62, 29) geohash on 2019-05-04.

Is it true that Kripakko earned the Tron achievement? In principle, yes. But he failed to reach the hashpoint (2019-05-04 62 29).

Is it true that Kripakko earned the Picnic achievement? In principle, yes. But he did not bring any picnic accessories with him, and while he had tissue paper that did serve as napkins, he failed to photograph them and himself in action (2022-06-13 62 29).

Kripakko earned the Done with Nature consolation prize by failing to reach the (63, 25) geohash on 2023-12-17. He was way too unprepared for the cold and windy weather.

Kripakko earned the Train wreck consolation prize by failing to reach the (65, 25) geohash on 2024-03-22 because his bicycle’s chain broke and left him unable to continue.

A Tale of Two Hashes

Kripakko issued a challenge for the Tale of Two Hashes achievement by geohashing in a place named Kirkkokatu (Church Street) from the (62, 29) geohash on 2021-05-18.
